Why should I use Unishippers? Can’t I get the same great rates and service by going directly through the shipping carrier?
Unishippers combines the annual volume of over 50,000 Unishippers customers so we can offer you discounts typically reserved for much larger volume shippers. How does the shipping consultant work for me?
Your shipping consultant is your own personal troubleshooter and quality control expert. In short, they make sure that you get exactly what you need. And, if anything ever goes wrong, just one call to your shipping consultant will take care of the problem. No more dealing with bureaucracy, frustrating automated customer service numbers or limited business hours. Your consultant is a real, live person with a passion for helping you.
How involved is my Unishippers team?
As involved as you’d like. Some customers want to manage their shipments mostly on their own, with only occasional support from the Unishippers team of shipping experts. Other customers are more comfortable with a hands-on consultant and utilize them regularly. It’s really up to you.
What happens if there’s a problem with my shipping? Who do I contact?
Just contact Unishippers for all of your shipping needs and questions. Our customer service personnel only handle a small group of customers, so more in-depth and personal service is available from the local office. And, because of our relationships with the carriers, we can often call them directly and work out a solution more quickly than you could by calling the carrier’s 800 number. There is no need for you to spend valuable time and energy trying to track down the source of the problem, or negotiate potential solutions. Unishippers will take care of it for you.
How can I be sure I’m getting the best rates and service?
With more than 50,000 customers across the country, Unishippers has the volume and leverage to negotiate substantial discounts for all of our customers. Does Unishippers have any trucks and drivers to make deliveries?
We do not have trucks and drivers — our carrier partners do all of the pickups and deliveries. We are the liaison between the carriers and our customers, making sure all of the pickups and deliveries are satisfactory.
How do I get started?
If you haven’t already done so, contact your shipping consultant or the Unishippers office today to get set up. We’ll provide an account number, supplies and access to requested shipping tools, so you’ll be ready to start shipping and saving immediately. If you’ve already received your account number and supplies, you can begin shipping immediately.

I have express and smaller shipment needs. Can Unishippers help me with this?
Yes. Unishippers offers a full spectrum of delivery options to meet all of your shipping needs. Our relationship with UPS ensures that you’ll get flexibility, reliability, choice and cost savings for all of your express and ground needs. I know UPS is a huge, worldwide company. How do I know I won’t fall through the cracks?
UPS has selected Unishippers as an authorized shipping reseller because of the proven small business service and experience that we have consistently provided to our customers. Do you offer heavy freight services?

I have a great relationship with my local carrier. Why do I need Unishippers?
Unishippers offers you access to more than 30 national, regional and local carriers all from one company. You can select the best carrier for you based on pricing, timing and service levels with one call to us or by using our transportation management system, Freight Manager. Unishippers will work with you and your current carriers, adding support and value to what you’re already getting. We’ll provide assurance that you are getting the best possible rates—something only Unishippers can provide. With dozens of carrier partners and a full spectrum of service offerings, Unishippers can also provide additional options should you ever need them. But beyond your current relationships, we can provide better rates, better tools and more control than you probably experience now.
How do I know your carriers will handle our freight the same as our current carrier?
Unishippers only partners with freight carriers that meet our high expectations. They know Unishippers has high expectations and they must compete against all of our other carriers if they want Unishippers to choose them in the future. We are confident you will find that our partnered carriers will exceed your expectations.
What information do I need to get a freight price quote?
In order to get the most accurate freight price quote, we need to know your shipment origin and destination (from where and to where), commodity description, weight, dimensions and class. You also need to indicate the insurance needed and whether a lift-gate is needed to load your shipment.

I forgot my Express Manager password, what do I do?
If you forget your password for Express Manager, click on the "Forgot Your Password" link in the login dialog box. Follow the steps and the system will email you a temporary password. Use this temporary password to login and then create a new password. Please contact your Unishippers office if you have any questions or need further assistance.

How do I prepare a shipment using Unishippers Freight Manager?

How do I change a quote to a BOL in Freight Manager?
Within Freight Manager, go to the "Shipment Management" section under the destination address. Choose a date range with the existing calendars. Beside "Type" choose Quote on the drop down screen and beside "Status" choose Any. This will bring up a list of quotes for the time frame chosen. Then click on the quote and a summary will appear. Scroll down to the bottom and choose "Copy"...This will take you thru the process again allowing you to update or change any information. When you get to the last screen check the box beside "I agree..." then Next, then the BOL will appear.
Will Freight Manager schedule the pickup for me?
No, all the carriers on our system do not have the ability to accept electronic tender. Until that becomes available we ask you to call the number printed on the Bill of Lading to arrange for pickup.
If I fill in Shipment Value on the Freight Manager details of the shipment, will my shipment be insured?
You can easily purchase shipment insurance online at the time you are booking your shipment. Click here for more information on cargo insurance. You can also call the freight coordinator at your Unishippers office for a quote.
How do I know what class my item is and how does this affect my shipment?
Class refers to the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) number that specifically identifies each type of product that can be shipped by a carrier. This NMFC number must be accurate on the Bill of Lading. This is imperative to be sure that you receive accurate pricing for what you are shipping. Should the carrier suspect that the weight or class of your cargo is incorrect, they will re-weigh and correctly re-class your load, which will result in a Reweigh and Inspection fee, as well as an increase in the cost of moving the freight should the correct class be higher than what was originally specified. Do I need to use the Bill of Lading provided by Unishippers?
To make certain that you receive the rate that was quoted to you by Unishippers, you must provide the truck driver with a copy of Unishippers’ Bill of Lading. This ensures that you receive the negotiated rates and discounts, the carrier must know to bill Unishippers. If you choose not to use our Bill of Lading, you must specify on the Bill of Lading used that all charges are to be billed to your respective Unishippers franchise billing address. Not doing so will result in incorrect billing or additional fees.
