Dan Lockwood Dan Lockwood, Chief Executive Officer and Franchisee
Dan Lockwood has served as an executive at Unishippers Global Logistics, LLC since October 2002. The Unishippers Board of Directors appointed Lockwood CEO in January of 2011. Prior to being named CEO, he was President from April 2006 – December 2010 and Executive Vice President and Chief Products Officer of from October 2002 to April 2006. In addition to Lockwood's corporate responsibilities, he remains a part owner of seven Unishippers franchise locations including Orange County S., Orange County N., Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego S., San Diego N. and Whittier. Prior to joining Unishippers, Lockwood was a General Manager with Traditional Concepts from 1988 – 1991, managing the expansion and development of McCormick & Schmick's locations in California. Prior to his tenure with McCormick and Schmick's, Lockwood worked for Seaco as a dolphin trainer in a Navy contracted marine mammal program. Lockwood earned his BS degree from San Diego State University.
Kevin Lathrop Kevin Lathrop, President and Franchisee
Kevin Lathrop has served as President of Unishippers Global Logistics, LLC since January of 2011. Lathrop began his Unishippers career as a franchise owner, initially purchasing the Unishippers of Orange County North franchise in 1992. In September 1999 he joined the Unishippers corporate offices, serving as Executive Vice President and CIO. In addition to Lathrop's corporate responsibilities, he remains a part owner of seven Unishippers franchise locations including Orange County N., Orange County S., Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego S., San Diego N., Prior to joining Unishippers, he worked for Hughes Aircraft Company in a variety of engineering and management positions. Lathrop earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Fullerton and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles.
Steve Leavitt Steve Leavitt, Executive Vice President, COO and Franchisee
Steve Leavitt began his Unishippers career as a franchise owner in Ohio in 1988. In September 1999 he joined the corporate office, serving as Executive Vice President and COO. He remains part owner of six Unishippers franchise locations. Prior to joining Unishippers, Leavitt spent 16 years owning and managing six "Yankee Lunch" fast-food restaurants. He also has worked as a real estate broker and, from 1984-1988, owned and managed a one-hour photo shop called "Snap Shot Express."
Dennis Heaps Dennis Heaps, Vice President, CFO
Dennis Heaps joined Unishippers in 1996 as a Controller, managing all aspects of accounting, payroll, budgeting and employee benefits. Heaps has been instrumental in developing and implementing a budget structure which is used for both forecasting future expenditures and reviewing current ones.
Joe Curtis Joe Curtis, Vice President of Sales
Joe Curtis became Unishippers’ Vice President of Sales in January 2008 after a 17-year career at DHL where he worked in various capacities such sales representative, sales manager, regional director, VP of Marketing, VP of Field Sales and, most recently, VP of Channel Sales and Telesales. He has a BS degree from USC and is an entrepreneur with ventures ranging from recreational rentals to helicopter services for the agriculture industry.
